Liverpool FC Women return to Prenton Park to take on Aston Villa Women in a Barclays Women's Super League fixture today (kick-off 2pm GMT).
The last time the Reds met Villa, goalkeeper Rylee Foster was one of the team’s heroes as they won a penalty shootout in a Continental League Cup group game.
Shortly afterwards, Foster almost lost her life in a serious car crash, and 12 months on she explains why watching Liverpool face Villa will be a poignant occasion.
She also discusses her long road to recovery, her unwavering support for the team, and why she is convinced the Reds will soon start to climb the league table.
Continuing our series focusing on LFC Women’s backroom team, we catch up with strength and conditioning coach Colm Smith, who gives us an insight into his work and the dedication the squad put in to ensuring they are in tip-top shape.
Centre-back Gilly Flaherty selects her five-a-side dream team and we also hear why the Reds will be wearing special shirts for the game in support of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal 2022.
Elsewhere, manager Matt Beard and captain Niamh Fahey share their thoughts in their regular columns.
There is also a pull-out poster of goalkeeper Rachael Laws on her birthday weekend, the lowdown on our visitors from the Midlands, plus a look back at past clashes between the sides.
With fun quizzes and all the facts and stats every Red needs to know, along with plenty more besides, be sure to pick up your copy of the official matchday programme at Prenton Park.
