ClubForever Reds Christmas lunch raises vital funds for former players and charitable causes
Fans were given the chance to enjoy a very special Christmas lunch with some of the club’s greatest ever players on Friday December 17, with money raised from ticket sales, a raffle and an exclusive auction being used to provide vital support to the club’s former players.
The money raised will be used to pay for the care and medical treatment of those former players who may need support, with a donation also being made to causes close to the hearts of Forever Reds via the LFC Foundation, such as Alzheimer’s UK.
Guests were treated to live Q&As with former players such as John Aldridge, Graeme Souness and John Barnes, live music and entertainment and a wealth of photo opportunities. Fans could also get their hands on some must-have items in the charity auction.
Jürgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah also made a very special live appearance from the AXA Training Ground via video link, answering questions from the audience.
John Aldridge, chairman of Forever Reds, said: “What an incredible event to be a part of this Christmas, we’re so grateful to all our supporters who came along, shared in the festivities and made this an unforgettable afternoon for all.
“We can’t put into words how important events like these are to recognise and remember our great former players, but most importantly to raise these vital funds to support those who need it later in their lives. The money raised from this event will go a long way to helping yesterday’s heroes, and also supporting charities like Alzheimer’s UK, who do an amazing job caring for those living with this terrible disease.”
