Liverpool v Everton: Team news
Jordan Henderson’s suspension means Jürgen Klopp must make at least one change to his team for Sunday’s Merseyside derby.
However, the boss is not yet sure who will be available for Liverpool’s clash with Everton at Anfield, as a number of his players are nursing knocks sustained during the midweek game against Paris Saint-Germain.
With captain Henderson to serve a one-match Premier League ban following his dismissal at Watford last weekend, Klopp told Friday’s pre-match press conference: “As long as all the others are fit, we have solutions for that and that’s good.
“The squad situation, I am not 100 per cent sure in the moment to be honest. The day before yesterday we played and as you can imagine, it was quite an intense game and there were a lot of knocks that we have to see.
“It’s good we have this one day more and it is not Wednesday - Saturday because that would be really difficult. Wednesday - Sunday will be enough to have a nearly full squad then, but I don’t know exactly how the situation will be tomorrow for training.”
Adam Lallana (muscle) and Dominic Solanke (groin) missed Wednesday’s Champions League defeat at Parc des Princes, as did Divock Origi and Kamil Grabara (both illness).
Everton boss Marco Silva, meanwhile, reported no injury concerns ahead of a game he expects to be ‘really tough’.
“Until now, all good news for us [fitness-wise] and we hope we’ll keep in the same way,” the Portuguese told reporters.
“For sure, it will be a really tough, tough match. We’ll play against a strong side, a very good team with quality and Klopp is doing a very good job as well.”
