2. Man Utd 2-5 Liverpool (November 1936)
Both clubs were struggling at the wrong end of the table when they met for this winter clash in Manchester, with United bottom of the league and George Kay's Liverpool five places ahead in 17th.
Reds winger Alf Hanson (pictured fourth from right) opened the scoring, new signing Harry Eastham notched his debut goal for LFC and forward Fred Howe (second from right) hit a hat-trick as the Reds scored five goals at Old Trafford for what remains the only time in the club's history.
The victory, worth only two points back then, would prove crucial as Liverpool finished the season just three points ahead of United, who were relegated.
