No.1: Gary Ablett
Only one man could top our list and he is a true Merseyside legend - the one and only Gary Ablett.
Ablett's modesty and sincerity allowed him to transcend an intense city rivalry to play for both Liverpool and Everton while retaining the respect of both sets of fans.
His achievement of winning the FA Cup with both Merseyside clubs - 1989 with the Reds and 1995 with the Blues - remains a unique one.
The Scouser then enjoyed success as a youth coach, helping to inspire Everton and then Liverpool Academy players.
A humble man, he is sorely missed by both clubs.
