Lovren credits Liverpool's character for Palace result
Dejan Lovren hailed Liverpool's strength of character after they came from a goal behind with 10 men to claim a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
An eventful contest in the capital saw the home side go in front when Joe Ledley struck and the Reds’ task increased with a second yellow card and subsequent red for James Milner.
But Jürgen Klopp’s team refused to yield and dramatically took the points courtesy of Roberto Firmino’s equaliser and a penalty from substitute Christian Benteke deep into stoppage-time.
“It was an incredible performance from all of us, especially after the red card,” Lovren told Sky Sports after stepping off the pitch.
“We stepped up and showed our skills and character. I think it was a deserved win.
“After the game against Manchester City, this is [another] lift for every one of us. We will have a tough game again on Thursday in the Europa League.
“It’s a good thing for our confidence and all of the supporters. We need to continue like that.”
