LFC launch official Indonesian website
Liverpool Football Club today launched its first ever official local language website in Indonesia.
Indonesia.liverpoolfc.com went live earlier this morning - with the goal of bringing fans in Indonesia closer to the club they support by delivering compelling daily content in Bahasa Indonesia.
As well as exclusive interviews, official news and behind-the-scenes and match action videos, the website will also include original locally-produced content to help increase engagement with the club's supporters across Indonesia.
According to a recent independent REPUCOM survey, conducted for the Premier League, the Reds have over 65m followers in Indonesia and the country now provides Liverpool with more fans on social media than any other country in the world.
On the club's official Facebook page, there are over 1.2m fans from Indonesia - more than any other country, including the UK - and a new Facebook 'global page' for Indonesian fans launches today - offering supporters every update in Bahasa Indonesia.
The club's official Indonesian Twitter account - @officialLFC_ID - was launched in November 2012 and now has over 57,000 followers, making it the club's biggest international Twitter account in the world.
Paul Rogers, head of international digital development at Liverpool FC, said: "We're delighted to announce the launch today of our first ever official local language website in Indonesia. Today's announcement is the latest development in the club's programme of international digital expansion that began in 2012 and will continue throughout 2013. Our goal is to use our digital platforms to increase genuine engagement with our supporters around the world and such is our incredible fan base in Indonesia, we're delighted to be able to start delivering official news in local language on a daily basis.
"As well as the new official website - which will be managed with local staff in Jakarta - we are very excited about our ability to now communicate with fans in local language on both Facebook and Twitter. To mark the launch of the website, club captain Steven Gerrard and manager Brendan Rodgers have both conducted exclusive interviews for fans in Indonesia and we believe that the launch of this website, coupled with the club's first ever visit to Jakarta in July, clearly demonstrates our commitment to bringing our Indonesian supporters closer to the club they love."
