A documentary offering fans a truly unique insight into what goes on behind-the-scenes at Liverpool Football Club will premiere for UK audiences on Friday night at 9pm BST on Channel 5.

Filming for Being: Liverpool - which will be narrated by Golden Globe-winning actor and Reds fan Clive Owen - began in May. The first episode aired in the USA last Sunday and arrives on UK screens tonight.

The Reds are the first major football power in the world to open their doors in this way having teamed up with FOX Sports Media Group.

The cameras rolled throughout the summer as new manager Brendan Rodgers was appointed and took his squad to North America. The six-part show follows the start to our Barclays Premier League campaign right up until the transfer window closing.

Produced by Emmy Award-winning Scott Boggins, viewers will see the players and management as they've never seen them before as the cameras take fans into Melwood, the dressing room and the manager's office.

Michael Bloom, senior VP of FOX original production said: "Our goal was, and is, to go deep inside the lives of today's greatest sports superstars and at their most critical and intimate moments. Other people and other shows have taken us 'behind the curtain,' but Being: Liverpool is about the people.

"We aim to show that these stars are human, electric and interesting - but they also have to deal with being on a world-wide stage. This is a celebration of them.

"We pride ourselves on the brilliant visual style and the presentation but most important is how we are taken along for the ride. This is a series that looks forward and there are a lot of heart-warming moments in this show that the normal sports fan has never been able to see before."
