The Reds automatically moved forward to the last 16 by topping Group E ahead of Toulouse, Union SG and LASK.
Jürgen Klopp’s side will therefore be seeded for the draw – which begins at 11am GMT in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday – and paired with one of the eight winners from the knockout play-off round.
Last-16 ties will be played over two legs on Thursday March 7 and Thursday March 14, with Liverpool to be at home in the second fixture.
The knockout play-off round matches are as follows (current aggregate score in brackets):
- Feyenoord v AS Roma (1-1)
- Galatasaray v Sparta Prague (3-2)
- Shakhtar Donetsk v Marseille (2-2)
- Young Boys v Sporting CP (1-3)
- Benfica v Toulouse (2-1)
- Milan v Rennes (3-0)
- Lens v Freiburg (0-0)
- Braga v Qarabag (2-4)
