Internationals Euro 2024 preview: 10 Liverpool players set for action
A Scotland side captained by Andy Robertson will take on hosts Germany in Munich in the opening match on Friday evening.
The European Championship runs from June 14 to July 14, when the final will be held at Berlin’s Olympiastadion.
With 24 countries involved in the first stage, the top two from each of the six groups will automatically progress to the Round of 16, along with the four best third-placed teams.

Group A: Andy Robertson and Dominik Szoboszlai
Robertson’s Scotland will get the Euros under way against Germany at Allianz Arena on Friday June 14 (8pm kick-off) and are joined in Group A by Hungary and their skipper Dominik Szoboszlai.
Hungary will begin their campaign with a game versus Switzerland in Cologne on Saturday afternoon (2pm), with both Robertson and Szoboszlai back in action on June 19 as Hungary meet Germany (5pm in Stuttgart) and Scotland play Switzerland (8pm in Cologne).
Group A then concludes on June 23, with the Liverpool teammates to compete against each other in an 8pm kick-off between Scotland and Hungary in Stuttgart.
Fellow Red Ben Doak was named in Scotland’s provisional Euros squad but was last week ruled out of the tournament due to injury.
Group C: Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez
England’s final squad for the tournament includes Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez, with Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah having been among the seven players released from Gareth Southgate’s provisional 33-man party.
The Three Lions’ Group C campaign begins against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen on June 16 (8pm) and their second match sees them meet Denmark on June 20 (5pm in Frankfurt).
England’s group stage finishes on June 25, when they will take on Slovenia in Cologne (8pm).
Group D: Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate
Four Liverpool players are involved in Group D, with three of those – Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch and captain Virgil van Dijk – members of the Netherlands squad.
Oranje’s first assignment is a clash with Poland in Hamburg on June 16 (2pm), before the Reds trio meet teammate Ibrahima Konate and France on June 21 (8pm in Leipzig).
The Netherlands’ final fixture in the section is against Austria in Berlin on June 25 (5pm).
France, meanwhile, start the Euros versus Austria (8pm on June 17 in Dusseldorf) and conclude Group D by taking on Poland on June 25 (5pm in Dortmund).
Group F – Vitezslav Jaros and Diogo Jota
Group F gets under way on June 18 and two Reds will meet when Vitezslav Jaros and Czechia face Diogo Jota’s Portugal in an 8pm kick-off in Leipzig.
Next up for Portugal is a clash with Turkiye in Dortmund on June 22 (5pm), with Czechia against Georgia kicking off at 2pm in Hamburg on the same day.
And four days later, on June 26, Jota and co finish the group phase versus Georgia in Gelsenkirchen (8pm), while Jaros’ Czechia take on Turkiye in Hamburg (also 8pm).
