LFC WomenEmma Koivisto features as Finland lose Euros opener

New Liverpool FC Women signing Emma Koivisto played the full 90 minutes as Finland began Women's Euro 2022 with a 4-1 defeat against Spain on Friday evening.

The defender’s switch to the Reds was confirmed earlier this week and she was part of the Finnish starting XI for their Group B opener at Stadium MK.

Linda Sallstrom handed Koivisto’s nation a first-minute lead in the contest but Spain produced a turnaround through goals from Irene Paredes, Aitana Bonmati, Lucia Garcia and Mariona Caldentey (penalty).

Finland are back in action on Tuesday as they take on Denmark.
