NewsDirk Kuyt to Cody Gakpo: 'I hope the No.18 shirt brings you the same magic'
Dirk Kuyt has wished Cody Gakpo the very best in the No.18 shirt he wore at Liverpool.
Kuyt sported the jersey for six seasons between 2006 and 2012, during which he scored 71 goals in 285 appearances and delivered countless memories.
After agreeing a contract with the Reds on Wednesday, Gakpo will take up the No.18 squad number to join Kuyt, Alberto Moreno, Takumi Minamino and others as players to have worn the shirt for the club in the Premier League.
Kuyt wrote on social media to his Dutch compatriot: "Cody Gakpo, welcome to @LFC. This number has brought me lots of magic, and I hope it will bring you the same kinda magic too. Congratulations and good luck."
