Cody Gakpo's stunning first strike at Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup has been voted Liverpool's Goal of the Month for October.

The Dutchman opened the scoring in the Reds' 3-2 fourth-round win at Amex Stadium when his powerful effort a minute into the second half flew into the top corner.

That hit came out on top in a fan vote on Liverpoolfc.com – ahead of Mohamed Salah's well-taken efforts against Bologna and Arsenal.

Gakpo's second of the night in Brighton took fourth spot and Cornelia Kapocs' lovely lob for Liverpool FC Women away at Tottenham Hotspur placed fifth.
