MatchChelsea v Liverpool FC Women: Team news
The Reds travel to Kingsmeadow for a 7.15pm BST kick-off in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Melissa Lawley (hip) has already been ruled out for the season but long-term absentees Leanne Kiernan and Niamh Fahey have returned to training.
The latter duo, though, won’t be available for selection in the capital as they step up their returns.
“Yana and Meg will be out,” LFC Women manager Matt Beard told his pre-match press conference.
“Fahey and Leanne Kiernan are back in training today. I’m delighted for Leanne on that and obviously Niamh, but they won’t be available for tomorrow.
“They may be available for minutes on Sunday [against Manchester City]. Possibly Meg Campbell for Sunday, but Yana we’re probably looking post-Man City.”
Chelsea, meanwhile, have hinted they could rotate their squad amid a busy run of fixtures.
Blues boss Emma Hayes says one of those players who could be handed more minutes is attacker Pernille Harder following her recent return to full fitness.
“Rotation is something we have to look at purely because of how many important games we have coming up,” Hayes said at her pre-match press conference.
“We haven’t flogged the same 11 players all year, we’ve rotated often and I suspect that will be the same for this final block given the run of games we have.
“We’ve got players coming back, we’ve been missing a lot of good attacking options. Pernille Harder is back and that will really help us in this final block of games.
“We’ve got a lot to play for and we have to keep grinding until the end to see what rewards we can get.”
