NewsCeri Holland voted LFC Women's Standard Chartered Player of the Month

The award brings up a notable hat-trick for the midfielder, who also topped the fan poll for December and January.

April was a month that helped cement the Reds' place in the Barclays Women's Super League for next season with an important home victory over Brighton & Hove Albion and a hard-fought point secured away at West Ham United.

After picking up the trophy, Holland told Liverpoolfc.com: "It's great to be recognised by the fans once again. They've been absolutely fantastic for us this season, home and away.

"You only have to look at the number who travelled to Chelsea last week, even after the disappointment of the Leicester game the previous weekend."

That Prenton Park victory over Brighton saw the Reds come back from 1-0 down, secured by two goals from the all-action Wales international, bringing her season total to five.

"It's been good to add some goals from midfield and Bo's [Missy Bo Kearns] got some too, so it helps to take the pressure off Steng [Katie Stengel] who was contributing all our goals earlier in the season," added the No.18.

"Now we've got Tash [Dowie] as well and Shanice [van de Sanden] who has done really well in creating opportunities."

With just two games of the campaign left, Matt Beard's side sit in a comfortable seventh place in the WSL, with Holland believing it has been a positive return to the top flight of English football.

She said: "I think overall we've done really well. Yes, there have been some inconsistent results but also some great wins.

"If you look at how promoted teams have done, they've tended to struggle and I don't think anyone has done as well as we have.

"I've been very happy with my own season, my first in the WSL. I was looking back the other day and luckily I've been available for every game apart from two, so I'm happy to have been able to stay fit. Hopefully now we can kick on."

The final two games see the Reds travel to Aston Villa before a home finale against a Manchester United side that could still be chasing the WSL title, a prospect Holland is relishing.

"Obviously we were disappointed with the game over there, especially given the rivalry between the sides," she concluded.

"But we've been really good at home, especially since Christmas, and we feel we can beat anyone there."
