NewsCelebrate Community Day with Liverpool FC Women and LFC Foundation
This weekend's Liverpool FC Women's home fixture against West Ham United marks this season’s Community Day to celebrate the incredible work of the LFC Foundation.
As Liverpool FC's official charity, the LFC Foundation is dedicated to tackling social inequalities and raising aspirations both in the Liverpool City Region and internationally.
Their work is carried out through the delivery of programmes that have a positive impact on health, learning and employment outcomes in the highest-need communities across the Liverpool City Region, and through impactful partnerships internationally.
Around St Helens Stadium this weekend, fans will be able to purchase raffle tickets to help raise vital funds for the work of the LFC Foundation and be in with a chance of winning signed LFC Women memorabilia. If you wish to you can also donate directly via the LFC Foundation website www.liverpoolfc.com/foundation.
To help celebrate Community Day, the teams will be welcomed on to the pitch by flag wavers from the LFC Foundation’s player development programme, who will also take part in half-time entertainment on the pitch.
The PDP programme aims to deliver a unique football development offering for young people from the age of four to senior football. It is designed for all skills and abilities with a clear focus on development of players alongside coaches, grassroot clubs and leagues.
The LFC Foundation also runs an emerging talent centre, which is a talent identification programme that links to women and girls' pathway and feeds into the club funded academy age groups.
These are just some examples of opportunities available through the LFC Foundation. Last season alone, the charity supported more than 127,000 people and generated £92million of social value to the Liverpool City Region. During that period, for every £1 invested the LFC Foundation was able to generate a return of £13.70 back into the community.
Since LFC Women’s move to St Helens, the LFC Foundation has expanded its work to the local community through a new strategic partnership with Saints Community Development Foundation.
This partnership is helping to provide more opportunities for people of all ages in St Helens through the launch of LFC Foundation's latest Community Hub, based at St Helens Stadium.
LFC Foundation's hubs programme, which is funded by the Steve Morgan Foundation, provides safe spaces for people to come together and helps improve the general health and wellbeing of the local community. The hub in St Helens is one of eight that LFC Foundation works in partnership with across the Liverpool City Region and surrounding areas.
By combining the resources, knowledge and passion of both foundations, the partnership aims to work collaboratively to enhance each other's work in the community for even greater impact.
Join us at St Helens Stadium this weekend to help celebrate the LFC Foundation, tickets are still available online here.
