Review ShowBrentford 0-2 Liverpool: 'What a moment' - analysis of Nunez and Elliott impact
Neil Mellor highlighted the positive impacts of Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott, who each made a big contribution to the dramatic 2-0 win over Brentford on Saturday.
During his regular post-match Review Show, which is now available to watch in full on LFCTV GO, the former Reds striker analysed how Arne Slot’s side clinched three points in stunning circumstances.
“We kept going all the way to the end, we had 37 shots on goal and in the end got our reward,” said Mellor.
“What a moment for Nunez, who scored twice, including the crucial first goal.
“You want players to come off the bench and make an impact and he had the right attitude to come off the bench and contribute for the team.”
Mellor also put the spotlight on Elliott’s contribution off the bench, with the No.19 playing a key role in the two goals.
“Elliott was magnificent when he came on,” he said. “He made a massive contribution off the bench for both Liverpool goals.
“I also thought Ibrahima Konate was incredible alongside Virgil van Dijk, who was superb as well. He made some brilliant interceptions.”
