Reaction'The boss said let's try it again' - Trent on stunning strike at Leicester
The Reds recorded their seventh successive Premier League victory on Monday night, with Curtis Jones’ clinical first-half double laying the foundations for three points.
The result was then secured when, with 71 minutes on the clock, Mohamed Salah rolled a dead-ball situation to Alexander-Arnold and he lashed a strike into the top corner from 25 yards.
Speaking post-match, the No.66 revealed how discussions with Jürgen Klopp led to the routine, which had previously succeeded at Chelsea several years ago, being deployed – with a sensational outcome.

“He spoke to us, he said let’s try it again, it has been a while since we have done it,” Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports. “I think we caught them by surprise and I’ve been able to tuck it away. It was a well-worked goal.”
Jones, meanwhile, was making his ninth consecutive start for Liverpool and marked it with two coolly-taken finishes of his own before the break.
And Alexander-Arnold hailed his fellow Scouser’s personal form on a night when Klopp’s men moved to within one point of the Premier League top four.
Asked about Jones ‘stepping up’, he replied: “For sure, for sure. It’s not just been tonight, I think [it’s] since he came into the team again.
“He’s a lad who obviously would have wanted to play more throughout the whole season but he has stepped up when he has got his chance and I think that’s all you can do.
“He has shown his quality on and off the ball. And he has definitely impressed everyone. He has set standards for himself and we need to keep that as a team and himself, he has got a level now that he needs to hit every game.
“Today was an outstanding night for him and helped the team win the game.”
