VideoBlack History Month: John Barnes hears Tony's story
Reds legend Barnes recently met up with Tony at Anfield to reflect candidly on the terrible experience he suffered at the stadium as a youngster, his relationship with the club and the importance of change.
The pair’s conversation, which can be watched in the video above, forms part of LFC’s celebration of Black History Month, an annual event that takes place from October 1 to 31.
Black History Month recognises the contributions and achievements of the black community, and provides an opportunity for people to learn more about – and challenge – everyday racism and negative stereotypes.
