NewsAnfield hosts once-in-a-lifetime experience for AXA Heart in Action programme members

AXA – the Reds’ official training partner – invited 11 pairs of people from across five different countries enrolled in AHIA to take part in a game on the hallowed turf in L4, alongside several other activities.

AHIA is an association that aims to engage AXA employees in the service of society through solidarity actions, primarily in areas of exclusion, risk prevention and environmental protection across 38 countries around the world.

The mentoring programme aims to help young people from modest backgrounds achieve academic and professional success by using an AXA mentor and mentee dynamic through support and guidance in education, professional orientation and in daily life.

A visit to Anfield for a select group aimed to highlight the positive impact of the mentorship and aid the strengthening of bonds between pairs – utilising the values of sport and team spirit.

AXA offered the participants an immersive experience, including the use of the changing rooms, LFC Soccer Schools coaches and a meet, greet and talk from club legend Bruce Grobbelaar.

Club anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone was also played as the group entered the pitch ahead of a six-a-side tournament and a post-match prize-giving ceremony held in one of Anfield’s hospitality lounges.

“Thank you for this memorable event and unique opportunity, which brought us all together from different parts of Europe,” Sophie Maupoil, employee engagement project manager at AXA France, said.

“Bravo to the wonderful active participants, especially mentors and mentees, who sparked the magic of human connections and care. Merci!”

Charly Krebs, global head of sponsorship, AXA Group, added: “The walk to the pitch while listening to You’ll Never Walk Alone… we were all speechless. I’m so glad and happy to see all the smiles and happiness on faces.”
