ClubAnfield adapts to Plan B entry

Following the UK government’s Plan B announcement, a series of changes were implemented in keeping with the requirement for all fans to provide COVID status certification to guarantee entry.

Despite the changes, the overwhelming majority of supporters were safely inside ahead of kick-off, with the patience, co-operation and understanding of fans a key factor in ensuring the new entry processes operated effectively.

Andy Hughes, LFC’s managing director, said: “We have done a lot of work behind the scenes to adapt to the new Plan B regulations. Our priority is always to keep everyone as safe as possible at Anfield and it’s important we are following all the latest guidance and advice.

“We are really grateful to all supporters, home and away, for their continued patience and co-operation to adapt to these changes. We would like to thank them for arriving early, with the required documentation and closely following the new entry requirements.”

The club has worked closely with city partners, Liverpool City Council, Merseyside Police and Spirit of Shankly to implement these changes and will continue to prioritise the safety of supporters, staff, players and the local community.

All partners are committed to doing everything possible to keep supporters safe and maintain maximum capacity at Anfield to support the Reds.
