Analysis'Alexis Mac Allister's vision is unbelievable'
During his regular post-match Review Show, which is now available to watch on LFCTV GO, the former Red look back on another crucial Premier League victory.
“It was another brilliant attacking performance and it was a joy to watch, the atmosphere was great and it was a deserved victory, we had 30 shots,” said Mellor.
“Our winner was just a top goal! It’s just an absolutely brilliant pass from Mac Allister and a top finish from Mo Salah.
“What you have to remember about Mac Allister is he has been away with Argentina and a long flight home, but he was magnificent!
“The vision he has is unbelievable and playing alongside [Wataru] Endo has allowed him to get forward and influence games.”
Mellor also praised another superb performance at the back from youngsters Jarell Quansah, who made his 21st start of the season for Liverpool, and Conor Bradley.
“Jarell just keeps developing and again he was outstanding,” he added.
“He reads the game well and is just getting better, one recovery he made in the second half was top-class.
“Conor is so influential from that right-back area. As an attacking threat he is so involved and he drives at the opposition defence.
“He had 11 touches in the opposition box, he wins his duels and his tackles.”
