NewsAlexis Mac Allister voted Liverpool's Player of the Month for March
Alexis Mac Allister has been voted Liverpool's Standard Chartered Men's Player of the Month for March.
The No.10 wins the award for the first time in his Reds career after topping a poll on Liverpoolfc.com, ahead of Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah in second and third respectively.
Mac Allister was in sensational form for Jürgen Klopp's side during the period and registered three goals and as many assists from his five starts.
Upon collecting the prize at the AXA Training Centre, the 25-year-old said: "Thank you very much, it is a nice feeling. And I want to thank the fans for voting for me for this trophy.
"It's something nice, but at the same time it's thanks to my teammates because they played an important role."
Mac Allister began March by providing the 99th-minute cross that Darwin Nunez flicked in to give Liverpool a dramatic Premier League victory at Nottingham Forest.
He then put penalties past Sparta Prague and Manchester City before netting in the Emirates FA Cup tie with Manchester United.
The midfielder rounded the month off with a Carlsberg Player of the Match display against former club Brighton & Hove Albion, during which he set up Salah's second-half winner.
Asked for his favourite moments of the month, the Argentinian said: "There are two moments that I will never forget.
"One is the penalty against Man City in an important game. I had to take the responsibility and I really like to take pens. So that was an important moment.
"And then the assist for Darwin against Nottingham – I think it was special for everyone. So, these two moments."

Mac Allister's exploits in March tipped into early April as he dispatched a stunning, Kop-end finish during the 3-1 defeat of Sheffield United.
That effort drew plenty of comparisons to Steven Gerrard's edge-of-the-box drive against Olympiacos in the Champions League 20 years ago.
"It was definitely instinctive," he said. "When I received the ball in that position I just decided to shoot, there was no time to think about it, the game was 1-1 so we had to score a goal. It was an important goal and a nice one for me.
"It's an honour to be compared [to Gerrard's goal]… just in the goal, not in how I play! It's definitely an honour, he's a legend for this club and someone that I really respect.
"But I'm trying to do my own way and my own path, and I feel really good at this club."
Why you voted for Mac Allister

Patricia: He's a midfield genius!
Eoin: Bossing that midfield. Keep pushing!
Emilia: He's been a level above everyone this month, which is unbelievable considering the quality of this team. But he was that good.
