Liverpool remain the only team yet to lose away from home in the Premier League this season in 13 matches (won nine, drawn four).

In English top-flight history, on only five occasions has a side avoided defeat in their first 14-plus matches on the road from the start of a campaign: Leeds United in 1973-74 (15), Liverpool in 1987-88 (15), Arsenal in 2001-02 (19), Arsenal in 2003-04 (19) and Manchester United in 2020-21 (19).

The Reds are yet to lose a Premier League fixture on the road under Arne Slot, with his 13 games the outright longest unbeaten start on the road by any boss in the competition's history, surpassing the record set by John Gregory with Villa of 12 games from March to November 1998.

Slot's men have won 30 of their 40 matches across all competitions this campaign (drawn six, lost four) – more than any other team in Europe's top five leagues. Indeed, only in 2019-20 (37) and 1982-83 (39) have they reached 30 victories in a season in fewer games.

The only boss in Premier League history to amass more points than Slot's 60 through their first 25 matches is Jose Mourinho (64).

If Mohamed Salah scores, he will set a new club record of netting a 15th away goal in a single Premier League campaign. He is currently on 14, along with Luis Suarez from 2013-14.

Salah is also one away from becoming only the third player to reach double figures in assists in away games in a Premier League season, after Muzzy Izzet in 2003-04 (10) and Cesc Fabregas in 2014-15 (11).

The Egyptian has been directly involved in 37 goals in 25 league games for the Reds this term (23 goals, 14 assists). The only previous campaign in which he's been involved in and scored more Premier League goals was his first at Anfield in 2017-18 (42 – 32 goals, 10 assists).

Luis Diaz scored his 13th goal of 2024-25 last time out against Wolverhampton Wanderers, equalling his return from the entire previous season (13 in 51 appearances). This is now his best scoring campaign in the Premier League (nine), overtaking his eight from 2023-24.

Jarell Quansah and Conor Bradley could take their Liverpool appearance totals in all competitions to 50.

The last seven Premier League meetings between the clubs at Villa Park have produced a total of 33 goals, an average of 4.7 per game. Liverpool have scored at least twice in all seven of those matches (20 goals in total).

The Reds have only won more Premier League fixtures against West Ham United (36) and Newcastle United (35) than they have versus Villa (34).

Villa have won just one of their last 14 league contests with Liverpool (drawn two, lost 11) – the 7-2 victory at Villa Park in October 2020.

This encounter finished 3-3 last season – Liverpool haven't failed to win consecutive league games at Villa's home since December 2004.

Emery has won just one of his 12 meetings with Liverpool in all competitions (drawn four, lost seven), winning the 2016 Europa League final 3-1 with Sevilla. Among opponents he has faced at least five times in his managerial career, that win rate of eight per cent is his lowest.
