LFC International Academy Mauritius programme set to kick-off
Original Publish Date - 24th September 2019
Coaching programmes at LFC International Academy Mauritius are set to kick-off after a busy first few weeks on the island.
Following a visit by Reds legend Bruce Grobbelaar for the official launch event last month, activity got underway with a series of player trials and a programme of coach recruitment.
Player trials took place across the island and saw hundreds of children attend, with boys and girls eager to earn the opportunity to join LFC International Academy Mauritius.
The trials took place at five different venues including St François Xavier Stadium in Port Louis, Stade Harry Latour in Mahébourg, Stade Auguste Volaire in Flacq, Stade George V in Curepipe and Stade Germain Comarmond in Bambous.
In total, more than 2500 young players registered for the trials with a number of players subsequently selected to go forward to the next stage. The selection process is on-going and the next stage will identify which players will join the full-time coaching programme.
