Yossi Benayoun scored some crucial goals and his ability between the lines proved an invaluable asset when Liverpool were struggling to break teams down.
The Israeli had already established himself as one of the Premier League's best right-sided midfielders by the time he joined the Reds, during two years with West Ham United.
He played against them in the 2006 FA Cup final, losing on penalties.
A year later the winger made his Liverpool debut in a Champions League qualifier against Toulouse on August 15, 2007.
Within six weeks he had opened his account for the club with a classy run and finish in a 4-2 League Cup victory at Reading. More cup joy followed in November 2007 with a hat-trick in an 8-0 drubbing of Besiktas in the Champions League group stage.
Benayoun tallied 11 goals in total during his debut season at Anfield, a creditable return considering he wasn't always an automatic choice.
It wasn't until the latter half of 2008-09 that Anfield began witnessing his mercurial talent week in, week out. With Liverpool gunning for the title, Rafael Benitez put his faith in the wide man and was rewarded with nine goals and numerous assists.
Benayoun matched this goals tally in 2009-10, including a hat-trick against Burnley, before departing to Chelsea.
