Put together a compilation video of Steve McManaman's finest moments during almost a decade with Liverpool and you would probably lose a whole evening watching a football magician at work.
Bewildering long-distance goals, beautiful dribbles beyond challenge after challenge, thumping volleys and all with an impeccable work ethic to match - the winger was a joy for Reds supporters to watch during the mid-1990s.
The local lad made his first appearance for the club as a late substitute against Sheffield United in December 1990 but it was the following season when the Kop was afforded its first genuine glimpse of a special talent.
'Macca' played 51 times during the 1991-92 campaign and breached double figures in the goalscoring charts, capping a magnificent full year in the first team with a Man of the Match performance in the FA Cup final triumph over Sunderland.
McManaman owned an innate natural ability for the game; a simple dummy or drop of the shoulder seemed to earn him the freedom of the pitch and his running at pace with control of the ball was second to nobody in the country.
Alongside fellow Scouser Robbie Fowler under Roy Evans, the England international helped to form one of the most exciting and enjoyable Liverpool sides in memory. Despite regularly producing performances worthy of a championship, though, the title remained elusive for Macca and co.
Indeed McManaman's zenith during that period was another headline-stealing show in a Wembley cup final. The wide man destroyed Bolton Wanderers with ease in the 1995 League Cup showpiece, claiming both goals in a 2-1 victory.
His lack of appreciation at international level merely aided the Anfield cause, with McManaman converting an array of spectacular strikes for the Reds.
Superlative individual efforts at Celtic and Arsenal, to name just two, spring to mind at the mere mention of his name.
In some regards his Liverpool career was bittersweet; a man of his abundant talent deserved more trophies in his collection, while his decision to leave the club on a Bosman transfer for Real Madrid rankled with some fans.
But, glancing over his statistics, few can argue with the contribution McManaman made on Merseyside and he remains an instantly recognisable face from that period at Anfield.
