Samed Yesil was among the first signings of Brendan Rodgers' managerial reign but saw his four-year stay with Liverpool regularly disrupted by injury.

<p>Signed from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2012, the striker – a prolific goalscorer at youth level – did not have to wait long for a senior Reds debut.</p><p>It came in a League Cup tie at West Bromwich Albion that September, and was followed by another start at Anfield in the next round against Swansea City.</p><p>But the misfortune of repeated injury issues stopped Yesil from grasping any further chances, though he remained a lethal finisher when fit to feature for the U21s.</p><p>He joined Swiss side FC Luzern on a season-long loan deal in August 2015 before bidding farewell to Liverpool once his contract expired the next summer.</p>
