Boyhood Liverpool fan Robbie Keane joined the Reds from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2008.

<p>A creator and scorer of goals, his signing was considered a coup and supporters salivated at a potential striking partnership with Fernando Torres.</p><p>Keane's spell with Liverpool would prove surprisingly short-lived, however, with the Republic of Ireland international in and mostly out of favour under manager Rafael Benitez.</p><p>His first goal came in a Champions League tie against PSV Eindhoven, before he netted in matches at Atletico Madrid and Arsenal as well as Anfield doubles past West Bromwich Albion and Bolton Wanderers.</p><p>But a deal was agreed for him to return to Spurs midway through the 2008-09 campaign.</p><p>Having previously also represented Wolverhampton Wanderers, Coventry City, Internazionale and Leeds United, he later played for Celtic, West Ham United, Los Angeles Galaxy, Aston Villa and ATK.</p>
