    An outstanding performance for Leicester City at Filbert Street and at Anfield against Liverpool in the 1999-2000 season ignited Gerard Houllier's interest in Pegguy Arphexad.

    And the Reds boss wasted no time in snapping up the goalkeeper on a free transfer the following summer.

    Arphexad won several medals during his spell with the club, but because he was understudy to Sander Westerveld they were all as an unused substitute.

    He was released at the end of his Liverpool contract in 2003.
