Jordon Ibe burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old and played 58 games for Liverpool, but could not quite secure a permanent spot in the team at Anfield.

Signed from Wycombe Wanderers as a teenager, the winger's natural speed, body strength and dribbling ability ensured he stood out at youth level.

A number of eye-catching performances in the FA Youth Cup during the second half of Brendan Rodgers' first season as manager, 2012-13, brought Ibe further into the spotlight and the thinking of the new boss.

So much so that the Londoner was handed a senior debut for the Reds on the final day of the Premier League campaign, stepping up to the new level with impressive ease and teeing up the winner for Philippe Coutinho in a 1-0 victory.

The absence of European football the following season meant fewer opportunities and a loan spell with Birmingham City late in the term paved the way for a similar temporary switch to Derby County at the outset of 2014-15.

Ibe won plaudits at Pride Park, clocking up 24 appearances and five goals, and with Liverpool struggling to recreate their form of the previous season Rodgers recalled the wide man in the January.

He turned in a Man of the Match performance at Goodison Park a matter of weeks later, prompting Steven Gerrard to describe his display as 'sensational'.

Jürgen Klopp took the reins in October 2015 and Ibe continued to feature in the first-team picture, grabbing a crucial winner at Rubin Kazan in the early stages of Liverpool's eventual run to the Europa League final.

He struck another vital goal in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final with Stoke City, but as the season progressed Ibe's opportunities diminished.

And when the manager conducted a reshuffle of his squad in the summer of 2016, including the recruitment of Sadio Mane in attack, Ibe agreed a permanent switch to fellow Premier League side AFC Bournemouth.
