Joe Cole spent two-and-a-half years at Liverpool after his signing was met with fanfare in 2010.

Unfortunately, things never quite worked out for the one-time England star at Anfield, with injuries and lack of first-team opportunities limiting his chances to impress.

Cole arrived on a free transfer in the summer of 2010 determined to add to the three Premier League titles, two FA Cups and two League Cups that he won during seven years with Chelsea.

Signed by Roy Hodgson, the skilful midfielder endured a mixed debut season on Merseyside and was loaned out to Lille for the whole of 2011-12 by Kenny Dalglish.

He then spent half a season working with Brendan Rodgers before returning to boyhood club West Ham United in January 2013 on a free.

In total, Cole played 42 games and scored five goals for Liverpool.
