He joined the club from Celta Vigo in the summer of 2013 with a reputation for a fierce approach on the pitch and a healthy appetite for scoring goals.

Aspas began the campaign in the starting XI as Brendan Rodgers' side laid the early foundations for a run that would ultimately carry them to second place.

But with Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez in sensational attacking form up front, playing time proved increasingly limited for Aspas at Anfield.

His one goal for the Reds was notched during an FA Cup clash with Oldham Athletic.

Aspas was loaned to Sevilla back in his homeland for 2014-15 and, at the end of that stay, completed a permanent return to Celta.
