Champions LeaguePSG v Liverpool team news: Cody Gakpo 'a close call' for first leg
Arne Slot confirmed Liverpool have to assess Cody Gakpo's availability for Wednesday night's Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
The forward was included in the 24-man Reds squad that flew out to the French capital for the first leg of the last-16 showdown.
However, a knock sustained in training ahead of the tie means Gakpo must be checked to see if he can feature at Parc des Princes.
Slot was asked about the Dutchman – who has appeared as a substitute in each of the last two games after missing the previous two – at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday evening.
"He was close to being ready to play again, but unfortunately yesterday I think it was, he had to block a shot so he felt a bit of pain again," said the head coach.
"We took him with us to judge how he is tomorrow, if he can be part of the squad, yes or no. But it will be a close call."
Conor Bradley, Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton are sidelined for Liverpool due to injuries.
Five players are walking the disciplinary tightrope and would miss the second leg if they receive a yellow card in this match.
They are Harvey Elliott, Ibrahima Konate, Alexis Mac Allister and Andy Robertson for the Reds, and the hosts' Fabian Ruiz.
PSG boss Luis Enrique reported a clean bill of health in his team ahead of the 8pm GMT kick-off.
Midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery could return to the starting line-up, having appeared off the bench in their last two matches since recovering from an ankle problem.
Speaking at his media briefing, Enrique said: "As we can see in training, everyone is ready. Nobody is injured or has any issues.
"Everyone wants to be involved in the team against Liverpool and we will try to approach it in the same way as always – with calmness."
The Spaniard continued: "We have to play in the same way that we have been doing since the beginning of the season. We really have to try to have more of the ball than Liverpool, to create more chances than them and to defend effectively.
"We know that we are facing the most consistent team so far this season but our game plan does not change."
