The Onside programme, which is funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund, helps young people across Liverpool City Region to gain skills and qualifications
The Onside programme, currently sits within the LFC Foundation (LFCF) Youth Intervention strategic pillar. The programme aims to support and empower all young people aged 11 – 19 years using the power of the LFC badge to engage.
The Onside programme is a targeted intervention embedded into secondary schools across the Northwest. Working with participants identified by their school lead with differing social, emotional, behavioural and well-being needs.
Throughout their 12-week engagement with the ONSIDE programme participants will have the opportunity to gain two qualifications:
The Prince's Trust Achieve Award and Sports Leader Level 1 OR Dance Leader Level 1.
Both qualifications aim to develop a number of highly transferable skills including: teamwork, problem solving, self-management, self-belief, effective leadership and communication.
Workshops are delivered to explore the learning outcomes prescribed by Sports Leader and Prince's Trust. However, the content of the workshops is designed to meet each groups individual needs and interests.
Supporting a participatory pedagogical practice encouraging the participants to take active control of their learning and progression through the ONSIDE programme.
Workshops support the development of the key skills and help participants explore and practice the appropriate behaviours required to work within a team and become an effective leader.
