LFC FoundationLFC Foundation Coach Awarded LCFA Disability Coach of The Year
With today being the International Day of Disabled Persons, we are inspired to highlight the recent achievement of LFC Foundation’s Liam Brady, who has worked for the LFC Foundation for 13 years.
Liam, who leads the Foundation’s Ability Counts programme, recently won the LCFA Disability Coach of the Year award for his work on the programme, which is part of our Inclusion Football provision.
LFC Foundation's Inclusion Football provision works with young people and adults with additional needs and disabilities across the Liverpool City Region, aiming to deliver football in a fun, social environment, promoting positive physical and mental health, whilst creating opportunities for all to represent the LFC Foundation.
The Inclusion programme has 12 different Ability Counts football teams, who wear Liverpool red each month, representing LFC Foundation against other football teams. Ages range from under 10 to adult teams, and each age group plays fixtures once a month, where they play dynamic games as part of the LCFA Ability Counts League.
Ability Counts fixtures bring competitive opportunity, in a fun environment, tailored to support the needs of the players attending. In the previous season, LFC Foundation teams have seen success and great strides through their own hard work and commitment.
Liam Brady has spearheaded the growth and success of Inclusion Ability Counts, leading training sessions, organising fixtures and being present at all competitive events. Through this, Liam has seen his hard work rewarded by Liverpool County Football Association, announcing him as their Disability Football Coach of the Year, an award which he thoroughly deserves.
Liam has played every role within the Inclusion programme, starting as a participant, becoming a volunteer, right the way to a full-time member of staff, embodying LFC Foundation and its values.
The Inclusion Programme has been longstanding, supporting young people and adults with additional needs and disabilities, to enquire, please contact Mike Levenson via mike.levenson@liverpoolfc.com.
