When 5 became 6 - A Poem by Mighty Red
I can’t believe I was there,
On that special night in Madrid
When LFC took on Spurs
And 5 became 6!
I shouted and screamed,
all the way through
Mo’s goal was first,
And Origi made it two!
I can’t believe we did it, we won!
What a feeling watching you lift the trophy, Henderson
Thousands lined the streets
as big ears came home
The LFC family was there,
I didn’t celebrate alone.
My Mum and Dad came along,
with Little Liver, Ruby and I singing the
‘We Are The Champions’ Song.
The City of Liverpool turned red,
with fireworks and flags, like those above my bed
I was there when 5 became 6,
another trophy to add to our list.
I needed to mark the occasion in some special way
that would help me remember that feeling each day.
Looking in the mirror I decided to restyle my hair,
I picked up the comb, counted my spikes with care.
I now wear my hair in 6 spikes on my head,
To celebrate the 6 European Cups,
I’m so proud to be a Red!
