Train

If you’re travelling from outside the Liverpool area…

Lime Street Railway Station is Liverpool’s mainline station for regional and national journeys. It is two miles from Anfield.

After the final whistle you can catch 917 express bus services which will depart from Walton Breck Road to Liverpool City Centre, from here you can connect to all national rail services to get home.

Southern based LFC fans planning to head to Anfield by train for the Premier League clash against Stoke City on 27th December are being urged to check trains before they travel.

Essential planned improvement works to the West Coast Main Line take place on 27th December, the 17:15 kick-off time means there is only one service back from Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston after the game at 20:48.  Routed via the West Midlands, the extended journey time means a late arrival back into London at gone midnight.

Fans should plan their journey home carefully and be aware that the last train back is normally at capacity. Consider alternative means of travel and check the availability of trains departing Liverpool Lime Street the following morning

If you’re travelling within the Liverpool area…

Merseyrail operates regular services across 67 stations throughout Merseyside. Passengers can get regular services in to Liverpool from Ellesmere Port, Chester, West Kirby and New Brighton on the Wirral Line and Southport, Ormskirk, Kirkby and Hunts Cross on the Northern Line.
