Liverpool FC has more than 300 Official LFC Supporters Clubs (OLSCs) across 100 countries worldwide.

The Reds’ fanbase is famous for its passion and loyalty, cheering on both Jürgen Klopp and Matt Beard’s squads whether on Merseyside or watching from afar.

Our We Love You Liverpool feature aims to bring supporters closer together to learn more about each other wherever they are based around the globe.

Whether in the UK and Republic of Ireland, on Merseyside itself, in North or South America, Africa, Asia, Australia or elsewhere, fans provide the very foundations that the club is built on.

Here, we meet OLSC Egypt...

Firstly, can you introduce yourself – tell us a little a bit about who you are and where you are from...

I am Ahmed Kandel, I have been a member of OLSC Egypt for 10 years now – and I’ve been a Liverpool fan since 2005.

I am from Tur Sinai, an old city in South Sinai Governorate in Egypt, and work now in Sharm Elsheikh, which is famous for its tourism.

Tell us about OLSC Egypt…

We started our move towards being an official OLSC in 2009, and we completed that journey during the 2012-13 season. We started out as a small group of Liverpool fans who had aims of being representative of an official supporters’ group in Egypt.

We made contact with the club and discussed how to do that. We now have a little over 16,000 members on our official Facebook group.

How special is it to have a feel of ‘Liverpool’ despite being in Egypt? What makes it a great OLSC to be a part of?

Becoming an OLSC is a great feeling for all of us who are involved, it increases a sense of belonging to all our members and makes them feel part of Liverpool – even from so far away.

Our membership – as you can probably imagine – has grown a lot since Mohamed Salah became part of our great club.

Do you hold any special events throughout the season, or meet-ups for games?

Yes, we have a lot of events during the season. We usually meet with our supporters to watch the games in a specific cafe in Cairo and in many other cities all over Egypt, especially for the top six Premier League matches and big Champions League fixtures.

Why do you think Liverpool fans – no matter where they are from around the world – are so passionate and loyal to the club?

Our fans are known as loyal fans, our slogan – You’ll Never Walk Alone – represents our deep and honest feelings for the club. It is not just a slogan; they are words from the heart.

Has the OLSC ever visited Anfield? If so, what was the experience like?

Yes, you cannot imagine how it becomes a very special moment for our fans when they facilitate their journey to Anfield.

It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they have always dreamed to attend at least one match. Everyone that goes to Liverpool always has the same feedback – that it was one of the best experiences they’ve had.

If anyone is interested in joining your OLSC, how would they go about doing so?

It is very easy, by joining our Facebook group you can start to share ideas with us and meet new people.

Finally, is there anything else you'd like to mention?

Our biggest effort so far as an OLSC was helping organise our fans to attend our biggest event in Madrid for the Champions League final in 2019 – it was incredible.

There were more than one thousand supporters who travelled from all over Egypt to meet up for a trip that took over 10 hours – for most of us it was the first time seeing each other face to face too.

It was an incredible experience that ended with us winning the trophy.
