Trent Alexander-Arnold emerged from Liverpool FC's Academy to lift a stunning set of major honours before his 24th birthday and is now vice-captain.

The Scouser joined the club at the age of six and, after primarily playing in midfield while progressing through the ranks, has redefined the role of a right-back by becoming a creative fulcrum within the team.

Alexander-Arnold was an integral part of a Reds side that lifted four major trophies within 14 months and surpassed the 100-appearance mark for his boyhood club during a glorious 2019-20 season that featured success in the Premier League, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

The England international made history by becoming the youngest player ever to start consecutive Champions League finals as Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur in the 2019 final in Madrid and is no stranger to domestic individual records, either.

In 2019-20, he contributed 13 Premier League assists as the Reds stormed to the title – a record for a defender – having raised the benchmark with a tally of 12 in 2018-19 and again in 2021-22.

A dynamic, skilful player, Trent captained Liverpool's U16 and U18 teams on his journey to the top level under Jürgen Klopp, which was kickstarted by a switch in position from midfield to the right side of defence during the latter stages of his time at the Academy.

He was handed a senior debut in October 2016 and never looked back, with his importance to Klopp underlined by the fact he featured in all 38 games during his team's Premier League-winning season.

Alexander-Arnold ensured his fairy-tale journey would continue with Liverpool when he signed a new long-term contract in July 2021, the beginning of a memorable campaign.

The No.66 produced a career-best 18 assists throughout the 63-game journey, during which he reached yet another Champions League final and picked up Carabao Cup and FA Cup winner's medals.

During a more challenging 2022-23 season for the team, Alexander-Arnold ended it being deployed in a hybrid role that saw him move into midfield when in possession.

And his ascendancy was acknowledged further when he was appointed vice-captain to new skipper Virgil van Dijk following the departure of Jordan Henderson in July 2023.
