Such were his sensational performances in a Liverpool shirt, Billy Liddell was immortalised in Reds history – and the forward was also once immortalised in figurine form, as shown by this image from the archive.

The picture captures a small model created of Liddell, who remained at Anfield for 22 years, made 534 appearances and netted 228 goals during his time with the club.

Liddell stands alongside fellow professionals Frank Swift and Stanley Matthews.
