It was a frustrating day for Liverpool U18s as Fulham came back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 at the Academy on Saturday morning.
Steve Cooper's side deserved more from the game but a late goal secured three points for the visitors.
Jerome Sinclair put Liverpool in front after nine minutes when he slotted home after Kristoffer Peterson's shot was spilled by Max Oberschmidt.
Fulham equalised courtesy of a hotly-disputed penalty when Niall Heaton was adjudged to have brought down Lyle Dalla-Verde. The referee failed to award the initial spot-kick but after consultation with his assistant, a penalty was given and Muamer Tankovic sent Ryan Fulton the wrong way to make it 1-1.
Cooper's charges played some good football in the second half and were unlucky not to score when Heaton poked just wide and Jack Dunn sent a deflected effort agonisingly close.
Fulham stole the three points in the 83 minute when Tankovic set-up Jordan Evans, who fired home the winner.
Team: Fulton, Quirk, Maguire, Jones, Heaton, Baio (Randall), Peterson (Gainford), Sinclair, Dunn, Ibe.
