Liverpool were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by neighbours Everton as the 229th Merseyside derby ended all square on Sunday.
Mohamed Salah opened the scoring for the hosts in the first half, curling a beauty into the top corner of the Anfield Road net after evading two defenders.
But Wayne Rooney's second-half penalty, scored after Dominic Calvert-Lewin was downed in the box, earned the Toffees a share of the spoils.
