Jürgen Klopp hopeful of Adam Lallana return in November
Jürgen Klopp today spoke of his delight at the 'absolutely good news' of Adam Lallana's step up in his rehabilitation programme at Melwood and is confident the playmaker remains on course for a November return.
After spending time in Qatar last week as part of his recovery programme, the No.20 returned to the club’s training ground on Monday to take the next steps towards full fitness from a thigh injury that has ruled him out of the season so far.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com on board the team flight to Maribor, Klopp said: “It’s absolutely good news. I cannot say now, but maybe after the next international break he could be back.
“It would be fantastic for us, of course. Everybody knows what kind of a quality player he is, so it would be fantastic.”
News of Lallana’s injury in pre-season came as a blow ahead of the start of 2017-18, but Klopp insists as is the case with any fitness issues his squad may have, it’s something Liverpool have to accept.
“We don’t have to think about this. I cannot now mention it if I need it and then when I don’t need it then I say it’s not important,” continued the boss. “It is like it is.
“Sadio didn’t play a few games already and now he is injured, Adam is not in, Clyney is not in as well, but it’s also a fact other teams also miss players.
“Of course, it’s better if Adam could have scored in one game or another, but there is nothing we can do about this. It’s just good that he’s back in a few weeks.”
