Klopp explains Clyne absence for United game
Jürgen Klopp has revealed that Nathaniel Clyne was ruled out of Liverpool's meeting with Manchester United due to a rib/abdominal injury.
The right-back is not involved in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford today after sustaining the issue in Wednesday’s EFL Cup tie at his former club, Southampton.
“Clyney got this knock on Wednesday night, against Southampton,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com. “One of the muscles between his ribs hurts a lot – too much, actually.
“He can cope with many things and we hoped for the best but then he had this little issue at training yesterday and we had to wait.
“It was one of the final moments of the session. We spoke this morning and he thought there was no chance. So we made this change.”
