Woodburn shortlisted for Premier League 2 accolade
Ben Woodburn has today been shortlisted for November’s Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.
The attacker, who became the youngest ever goalscorer in Liverpool's history when he netted for the first team against Leeds United on Tuesday night, has been put forward for the accolade, which is based purely on displays in PL2.
The four-man shortlist is compiled by managers nominating the best individual performance from each of their opposing teams in the division throughout the month.
The Reds’ 17-year-old makes the list for his fine showing against Reading at Prenton Park on November 20, in which he got his name on the scoresheet to help Michael Beale’s side to a 2-0 win.
Woodburn is joined by Liam Walsh (Everton), Josh Sims (Southampton) and Oliver McBurnie (Swansea) in the running for the award.
