Reds receive LMA accolade for victory over City
Jürgen Klopp today received the League Managers Association's Performance of the Week Award for Liverpool's emphatic 4-1 victory at Manchester City last Saturday.
The Reds stunned their hosts by quickly racking up a three-goal advantage as Eliaquim Mangala put through his own net and Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino beat Joe Hart.
Sergio Aguero struck back before half-time, but Martin Skrtel lashed home a volley late on to give Klopp’s team a result to remember in the Barclays Premier League.
And their display in Manchester was acknowledged in the form of the LMA Performance of the Week accolade, which was presented to the Liverpool manager at Melwood.
The Reds were nominated for the prize by a five-man panel including LMA chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry.
