Young Reds lose to Galway
A young Liverpool U18s side lost 1-0 to Galway United in a friendly at Eamonn Deacy Park on Saturday afternoon.
In front of a passionate crowd of 2,182, both sides produced a good display.
U18s boss Neil Critchley took the opportunity to field two teams during the encounter with some of his younger squad members getting minutes.
The only goal of the game came from Padraic Cunningham in the first-half when he charged into the penalty area before producing a composed finish.
Reflecting on their Irish tour, Critchley told Liverpoolfc.com: "We have had two fantastic games in Ireland and this tour has been very rewarding.
"There was another fantastic crowd for the boys to play in front of and Galway United were very welcoming.
"We had some really good moments in the game but it just broke down in the final third but we will work on that and it's all about learning for these young players.
"We have a lot of positives to take from our training camp in Ireland. I've been very impressed and pleased with the application and attitude of the lads."
