Watch now: The oldest known footage of Anfield
Ever imagined what Anfield looked like in its earliest years? Wonder no more thanks to rare footage from a match at the ground in 1901 that is now available on LFCTV GO.
The pictures feature in LFCTV’s brand new documentary This Is Anfield, which premieres at 8pm BST on Sunday evening with the full story of the world-famous stadium.
Including exclusive interviews, rare images, unseen shots and much more, the film is an all-encompassing tale of how Anfield has become a legendary place.
The documentary also boasts the earliest known footage of the ground – as the Reds hosted Small Heath, soon to be Birmingham, in a league fixture in September 1901.
Glimpses of the fledgling Main Stand, Kemlyn Road Stand and what would become the Kop were caught on camera during a 3-1 victory for the home team.
