Participants from LFC Foundation’s Global Works employability scheme received a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the AXA Training Centre and Anfield Stadium, made possible by official club partner, Sorare.

For the second year running, Sorare, a global sports and entertainment company, donated its spaces to watch a training session and take a tour of the AXA Training Centre and Anfield Stadium to a charity organisation, facilitated by LFC Foundation.

As part of the experience, 14 Global Works participants received a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities at the AXA Training Centre and watched the men’s first-team train, before departing for Anfield for a tour of the stadium.

Last season, the experience was donated to Honeysuckle FC, a charity football team that was created in collaboration with LFC Foundation’s heath & wellbeing team, Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust and Honeysuckle Bereavement Team to support bereaved men affected by baby loss.

Dor Dak, one of the Global Works participants who attended the training session and tour, said: "I never thought that this would be something I'd ever get to do. Even the coach to the AXA Training Centre was a brilliant experience. I was happy already about being in the Global Works programme, but the AXA trip made me happier. I want to make LFC proud."

Michael Meltzer, Head of Partnerships and Business Development at Sorare said: “At Sorare, we take pride in being able to provide real-life experiences through our game, enabling football fans to feel closer to the sport both on and off the pitch. We were truly honoured to have been able to support the incredible work of the LFC Foundation's Global Works employability programme by donating this unique experience of seeing behind-the-scenes of one of the world’s most famous football clubs.”

The Global Works is a community-based employability programme funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund. The 10-week programme that helps participants – primarily refugees and asylum seekers – develop key employability skills while utilising sport to develop physical and mental wellbeing.
